Mal Education and Training Care

M.E.T.C., a registered society established with a purpose to serve the meritorious and talented youths from the poor families. May it be in the academic field, may it be in the field of sports and games or in cultural activities, many talented buds donot always get the right opportunity to develop their inborn qualities. There where M.E.T.C. works. Mr. Priyatosh Pandit, Principal of a renowned English Medium School in the Dooars and a literary man whose poems, songs, plays and essays earned a good name in the area, feeling the state of flux at heart, along with some of his associates, ventured to found M.E.T.C. in 2002, to stand by these gifted but unfortunate lots.

M.E.T.C. has been working since then silently but determinedly with its goal to serve the talented youths from poor families it has also created a wing SATATYA, which works for the uplift of cultural activities. Since 2002, it has organized many programmes and competitions among the budding singers, awarded the best talented performers and in order to boost the spirit, rewarded the teachers who coached the winners. A magazine highlighting the SATATYA songs, its progressive attitude was brought out in September 2008 and the second magazine will come out in September 2009.

M.E.T.C. also organizes Athletic Meet among the school children to find out the best talent lying unnoticed. In the last athletic meet held in Dec 12th 2008, about 150 students from 14 different schools took part. The best three in every individual event have been awarded certificate and cash prize as encouragement.

M.E.T.C. searches out talents from the nearby schools and poor but talented students are provided with books and other academic necessities.

M.E.T.C. has a few silent dedicated members who love to work for M.E.T.C. goal. Mrs. S. Pandit, Educationist, Mr. M. Pandit, W.B.C.S., Mr. D. Sarkar, Educationist, Mrs. P. Ghosh, Business Lady, Mr. A. Mridha, L.I.C.I. Employee, Mr. S. Pandit, Media man, Mr. D. Pandit, Chemist are a few among others.

M.E.T.C. aspires sympathetic co-operation from like minded people who love to work for the youths whose talent very often does not get suitable opportunity to flourish for want of a little support. The Nation loses her wealth for want of care. Don’t You want to stand by such unfortunate lot, who if given necessary help may come out as very valuables in the society? Write to us your suggestions.
